Following our successful rebranding and continued success, Kelvin Power is delighted to announce it has strengthened its team with the appointment of eight new members of staff.

New recruits for Kelvin Power Structures include two Graduate Design Technicians, Adam Williams and Marta Kostrzycka; CAD & Tekla Draughtsman, Vasanth Chelliah and Engineering Technician, Dean Cole.

All four will work in Kelvin Power Structure’s substation structures design department, but have been afforded the opportunity to have an input, and gain knowledge of, all departments across the business. Adam, a graduate of the University of Derby, explained “Kelvin Power has given me responsibility and recognition beyond what I could have hope for at this stage of my career. I have been allowed to challenge myself and my abilities, while having experienced and friendly staff support my development with guidance and training.”

CAD & Tekla Draughtsman, Vasanth Chelliah joined us recently arriving from Norway. Bringing with him 15 years’ experience in the oil & gas and steel structures industries, Vasanth has settled in to become a lead Tekla designer within the company.

Joining us from further afield is Marta Kostrzycka. A native of Poland, Marta gained a degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s in Structural Engineering before joining us via Singapore. Marta brings with her expertise in Revit and AutoCAD, along with excellent knowledge in Structural analysis, design and drawing. Discussing her experience of Kelvin Power so far, Marta stated “I have found everyone welcoming and helpful. The varied tasks and projects I am working with allow me to develop on a daily basis. I have also enjoyed living and working in Leicester, discovering something new and learning about its rich history since I have arrived.”

Engineering Technician, Dean Cole joined Kelvin Power while continuing his studies for BEng in Civil and Infrastructure Engineering with the University of Derby on day-release. Dean said “I was delighted to be able to continue my studies with Kelvin Power.” Dean had a significant role in providing technical support and representing Kevin Power on-site as part of an attachment to the Burbo Bank Extension project.

Joining Kelvin Power Consultants are two experienced Revit Technicians, Beatriz Sanz Moreno and Bogdan Butkovic, both of whom will be providing multi-disciplinary support from within the Layouts Department. Graduate Design Technician, Carlota Riesco joins our Civils team.

Beatriz joins us from London, bringing with her expertise in BIM strategy and substantial knowledge of Auto Revit and building engineering. Due to complete her Masters in BIM Manager with Revit soon, Beatriz stated “I have enjoyed the start to my career at Kelvin Power. The opportunity to work on such varied projects and be part of the company BIM strategy was perfect for my development and I look forward to the further challenges ahead.”

Bogdan arrives with extensive knowledge and expertise in a number of software suites and is currently studying for a PhD in the impact of 4D level of detail on communication in construction projects. This follows a Bachelors in Computer Aided Design and Construction, and a Master’s in BIM for Integrated Construction.

As part of our Civils team, Carlota Riesco arrived from Edinburgh with expertise in RC detailing, Surveying, Eurocodes, QA/QC and use of AutoCAD. A Spanish national, Carlota obtained a Bachelors in Structural Engineering with Architectural Design at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, following years of practical experience in her home country.

Completing our intake is Document Controller, Tracey Bown. Tracey brings with her extensive Document Control with over ten years’ proven relevant industry and project experience. Tracey supports both Structures and Consultants (including the Layout department) ensuring all drawing registers, master lists and tender logs are kept updated and in line with our ISO 9001, 14001 and Achilles certifications.

" The expansion and diversification of our in-house teams further strengthens our ability to meet the needs of our clients in a forward-thinking industry," noted Alastair Brennan, Commercial Director.

“Hiring and retaining talent is a process we take seriously,” noted John Brennan, Managing Director. “Our people are our biggest assets, therefore, it was important our recent recruitment drive focused on sourcing the finest, most motivated individuals who want to be part of our already successful existing team. We feel we have achieved this with these new appointments, and could not be more excited for the future and continued growth during 2016 and beyond.”
